Sue Watt is a painter and multi-disciplined artist based in Cardiff, Wales. Her visceral and honest, figurative abstractions make her an artist to watch in 2021.
Sue trained in the renowned St Ives School of Painting, Cornwall, a place that offered skills but also a respite. At the heart of Sue’s practice is her own personal experience as a mother and carer for her severely disabled, beloved son Tom. Using evocative bold colours her paintings narrate complex emotions such as love, anger, joy and perseverance, she traverses daily. Her solo show at Penwith Gallery, St Ives last year received much attention. Sue has also been included in many group exhibitions nationally, and her work is in private collections in UK and America.
